West Coast Awnings fabricates and installs three types of aluminum carport structures. During your free estimate, we’ll walk through which option works best for your property layout, setbacks, and HOA requirements, if applicable.
Bolted directly to your existing fascia or roofline, an attached carport creates a seamless extension of your home’s architecture. It’s the most popular choice for residential properties where the driveway runs alongside the house. The finished structure looks like it was always part of the building, not an afterthought.
Built on concrete footings with independent posts, a freestanding carport works anywhere on your property: beside the garage, along a side yard, or at the rear of a lot. It’s the right choice when attachment to the structure isn’t possible or when you’re covering a boat, RV, or secondary vehicle away from the main building.
We engineer multi-bay structures for apartment complexes, retail properties, office buildings, and municipal facilities. Commercial projects are quoted individually based on span, loading requirements, and local permitting needs.
Most carport suppliers sell single-skin aluminum pans: a single sheet of metal between you and the Florida sun. We build with foam core insulated panels: two aluminum skins bonded to a high-density foam core in between. The difference in performance is substantial.
| Foam Core (West Coast Awnings) | Standard Single-Skin |
Heat reduction | Up to 25–30°F cooler underneath | Minimal. Metal conducts heat directly. |
Rain noise | Significantly dampened | Loud. Rain amplifies on single skin. |
Condensation/dripping | None. The insulated barrier prevents it. | Common in humid FL conditions |
Structural rigidity | Rigid panel sandwich construction | Can flex and rattle over time |
Hurricane resistance | FL Building Code engineered | Varies. Many are not FL-code rated. |
The foam core construction also means your carport won’t sound like a snare drum every time it rains, a detail Tampa Bay homeowners quickly come to appreciate.
If you would like to see a visual comparison of how foam core panels are constructed, you can view the breakdown here.
Every carport is custom-built to fit your property. The following specifications apply to our standard foam core aluminum panels:
Feature | Details |
Panel Thickness | 3″, 4″, or 6″ high-density foam core |
Panel Width | 4-foot or 2-foot panels, fully interlocking |
Surface Material | Enamel-coated aluminum, top and bottom skins |
Color Options | White, Ivory, Beige, Bronze |
Finish | Powder-coated enamel |
Warranty | Manufacturer and labor warranties available |
Code Compliance | Florida Building Code engineered and wind-rated |
Hardware | Coated or Stainless steel fasteners throughout |
Panel colors are factory-finished and will not fade, peel, or require painting for many years. We match to your existing exterior where possible, and our team will bring samples to your estimate appointment. See all available colors here.
Aluminum carport pricing depends on width, projection, drop height, attachment type, and any site-specific requirements such as footings, drainage, or permitting complexity. The table below gives you a real starting point.
Configuration | Dimensions (example) | Starting Price |
Single-car attached | 16 ft wide × 10 ft projection × 8 in drop | From $6,500 |
Two-car attached | 22 ft wide × 18 ft projection | From $16,500 |
Freestanding | Custom sizing available | Request estimate |
Commercial multi-bay | Engineered per project | Request estimate |
All pricing includes design, materials, and professional installation. Permitting fees are additional when permit is desired. There are no surprise subcontractor fees. Our own crew handles every step.
All West Coast Awnings carport structures are engineered to meet or exceed the Florida Building Code wind load requirements for Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Pasco counties. Our panels carry Florida Product Approvals and our engineered drawings are stamped and submitted as part of every permit application.

We worked with Jimmy from West Coast Awnings and would highly recommend him and this company for awnings. He was friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with. The production was on time and the installation came out great. We went with a decorative black metal awning to coordinate with our black metal roof. Thank you again for a great experience!+0Posted on Google![]()

Our experience with West Coast Awnings of Clearwater was excellent. From our salesman, Jimmy, who made 2 housecalls, to the engineer who came and scoped out the job, and finally the installation team, Damien and Ken, everyone was friendly, professional and efficient. Damien explained how to work the awning and answered all my questions. I highly recommend West Coast Awnings of Clearwater!Posted on Google![]()

Robert & Zach recently installed a retractable awning in our backyard. They did a great job. They got the job done in just a couple hours; they were super nice and accommodating; and they cleaned everything up before they left. We also got lots of good tips for efficient use and care of the awning. Great job, guys!Posted on Google![]()

Very happy with the awning installation on our balcony. We thought it could not be done because a gutter was in the way, but Zach and Roberto made it happen. Thanks to Jimmy, too, who delivered earlier than expected. Great service.
